IAC manager dies in auto crash

The manager of the shared interest groups of the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Group died in a car crash last week.

Patrick Landin, 26, was found dead June 9 in his car along U.S. 50 by an off-duty Fairfax County, Va., police officer. Police believe he might have driven into the back of a commercial truck, which was not on the scene when police arrived. Landin was not wearing a seat belt, Fairfax police said.

Police are asking that anyone who might have seen the crash or have any information about it, the Fairfax Police non-emergency number at (703) 691-2131.

Landin joined ACT/IAC just over a year ago and was employed full time managing the IT group's nine shared interest groups, the organization said.

"It was a new position and more than a little daunting, but Patrick possessed the critical qualities needed for success: a can-do attitude and genuine affection for the members he worked with," the group said in a statement.

Visitation will be held today from 6-7 p.m. at the Adam Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Va. The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Middleburg, Va.
