The New Hampshire Health and Human Services Department may replace its child support enforcement system. A request for proposals is expected later this year.The state uses the New England Child Support Enforcement System, which has grown over the years to include 17 subsystems.The Wisconsin Health and Family Services Department is looking for a real-time communications system for bed polling. An RFP is expected in the summer.Bed polling, the process of monitoring hospital bed capacity, lets hospitals and emergency personnel direct, divert and transfer patients to the least-crowded facilities. The agency wants a contractor that can furnish hardware and software for an automated, Web-based system.The Mental Retardation Services Division in the Tennessee Finance and Administration Department wants to build an integrated services information system. An RFP is expected in early 2007.The division wants a tracking system to achieve fiscal accountability for state and federal funding for administering home- and community-based services, and specialized grant programs for mentally retarded state residents. The contractor will need to focus on business process re-engineering and meet several technology requirements.The Texas Workforce Commission may re-engineer The Workforce Information System of Texas (Twist). No date has been set for the RFP.For some programs, Twist relies on information from other agencies' systems. That necessitates integration with those systems, which has added to Twist's complexity.
