Securityhunter will check out USDA facilities

Securityhunter Inc., a Baltimore company that installs and maintains electronic security countermeasures, will assess Agriculture Department facilities under a $1.8 million contract.

The agency's homeland security department awarded the support services deal. The contract calls for Securityhunter to assess facilities and oversee implementation of systems ranging from physical barriers and blast protection to access control and intrusion detection.

Securityhunter, once known as Oracle Surveillance, counts among its specialties access control systems that use biometrics and smart cards; video surveillance systems, including license plate recognition and analytics; data transmission systems, including wireless and fiber-optics; and intrusion detection systems such as fiber-optic perimeter security.
