Pearson KEI wins DISA deal for business modernization

The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded a $32 million contract to Pearson KEI Inc. of Arlington, Va., for its Enterprise Business Modernization project.

The goal of EBM is to replace legacy applications and create a single integrated procurement system that is accessible worldwide, shares data and provides accurate and easily retrievable information for DISA's procurement and logistics directorate.

The procurement and logistics directorate, with the Defense IT Contracting Organizations, is DISA's procurement arm and has offices around the world. The directorate manages, operates and develops complex software across a wide range of computing environments. Its goal is to consolidate 11 mainframe applications, 47 client-server applications and seven Web applications.

The contract, which was awarded on March 24, has a two-year base and five, one-year options. Work starts May 1.
