Army re-ups Raytheon for Patriot missile support

Raytheon Co. won a $65 million contract renewal from the Army Aviation and Missile Command for engineering and technical services supporting the Patriot Air and Missile Defense program.

Under the contract, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems will provide system and software engineering, hardware engineering, system testing, quality assurance, configuration management, logistic support and program management.

The work includes implementation of the architecture for the first phase of the Combined Aggregate Program, second-phase studies and system architecture studies.

Raytheon is the prime contractor for Patriot air and missile defense. The award covers the second of four one-year options to the 2004 award.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems will perform the work at its headquarters in Tewksbury, Mass., and nearly a half dozen other sites in the United States and overseas.

Raytheon, which has more than 80,000 employees and annual sales of $21.9 billion, ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
