Albion nets Tennessee human-services deal

Albion won a three-year, $34 million contract from the Tennessee Department of Human Services to install an automated support for a range of human-services programs.

Albion of Atlanta will develop and implement a platform that will furnish automated support for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, food stamps, Medicaid, TennCare and other state programs.

Albion's solution is based on its Vantage health and human services framework, which also has been selected for use in Massachusetts, Wyoming and Minnesota.

The system will give Tennessee residents access to services via the Internet as well as improve operational efficiencies by streamlining business processes for caseworkers.

Albion provides state governments with IT for health and human services and justice functions. It is a unit of Scandent Solutions of Atlanta.
