L-3 lands U.S. Army Europe simulation and training deal

L-3 Communications Inc.'s Titan Group won a $74.6 million contract to support simulation, training and military exercises for the U.S. Army in Europe.

The contract was awarded by the 7th Army Training Command. Titan Group will provide constructive simulation support for eight Battle Command Training Centers in Germany, Italy and other locations. The company also will provide technical support for exercises at the Warrior Preparation Center. Titan Group's Technical and Management Services Division will perform the work.

L-3 also will support battle simulation exercises in areas such as Partnership for Peace, Mission Rehearsals, NATO training, and sustainment training of deployed units at remote locations in the European Command Area of Operations.

The focus of work will be the operation and use of computer-based battle simulation systems to support the training and exercise requirements of both active and reserve component commanders and their staffs at the platoon through senior command level.

L-3 Communications of New York has more than 44,200 employees and had annual sales of $6.9 billion in fiscal 2004. The company ranks No. 15 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
