Six firms win Army contracts for education, training support

The Army Training and Doctrine Command has awarded six prime contracts, potentially valued at nearly $2 billion combined, to support its Distributed Learning Education and Training Products Program.

Under the five-year contract vehicle, contractors will provide a range of distance training services ranging from online, interactive courseware to traditional classroom instructional materials.

Contractors are also responsible for configuration and customizing courseware authoring systems, developing software applications and analyzing existing courseware.

The Army's goal is to develop an Integrated Training Environment where the service can offer training capabilities whenever and wherever soldiers need them.

The six indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts were awarded to:

• Unitech of Centreville, Va.; value: $320 million


• Pal-Tech of Arlington, Va.; value:$219 million


• Karta Technologies, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas; value:$247 million


• Logistic Services International of Jacksonville, Fla.; value: $338 million


• Intelligence Decision System, Inc. of Centreville, Va.; value:$342 million and


• C2 Technologies of Vienna, Va.; value: $346 million.
