Multimax wins pair of Netcents tasks

Multimax Inc. has been awarded two task orders worth $75.7 million through 2010 for communications support, testing and IT security services under the Air Force Network-Centric Solutions IT consolidation contract.

Multimax of Largo, Md., which is a prime contractor for Netcents, will provide IT services to Air Force organizations at Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan and at Maxwell Air Force Base, Gunter Annex, Ala.

Under a $42.9 million task order for work at Maxwell, Multimax and its teammates Sumaria Systems Inc., Danvers, Mass., and RS Information Systems, Inc., McLean, Va., will furnish technical expertise for the Electronic Systems Command Operations Systems Support Wing in its independent test and evaluation and IT security services. The Multimax Netcents team will help review and certify automated systems for worldwide release.

Under a $32.8 million task order for work at Manas, Multimax will offer base personnel round-the-clock communications operations and services, covering voice switching equipment, network control and base networks, land mobile radio, communication security management and surveillance. Multimax' Netcents team partners there are EMW Inc., Lititz, Pa., and ManTech International Corp., Fairfax, Va.

Multimax officials said expanding foreign operations, with contracts such as the one at Manas Air Base, is a significant goal for the company. "The Manas task proves Multimax's capability to provide its core services outside the continental United States, which is an important growth area for the company," said Carleton Jones, company president.
