ManTech lands Joint Strike Fighter security services deal

ManTech International Corp. will provide a wide array of security services to the Air Force for its Joint Strike Fighter program under a newly awarded contract. The one-year deal has four option years and a potential value of $27.5 million.

Under the contract, ManTech of Fairfax, Va., will perform physical security, information security, anti-tamper and technology assessment. The company also will handle certification and accreditation, foreign disclosure and systems security engineering.

During the course of the work the contracting staff also will produce vulnerability assessments and help define a risk management process that balances, for example, the need for access to highly classified materials against the risk of inadvertent disclosure or the compromise of critical technologies.

JSF is the next-generation strike fighter that will be used by the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and eight U.S. allies.

ManTech has more than 5,500 employees and annual sales of $842.4 million. The company ranks No. 21 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
