CSC books $575M in smaller government IT deals

Computer Sciences Corp. signed almost 100 previously unannounced contracts and subcontracts worth about $575 million in the last quarter, the company said today.
The global IT services and systems integration company won the contracts between Oct. 1 and Dec. 30. The contracts range from one month to five years.
Civilian agencies accounted for 42 awards worth about $271 million. Defense Department contracts accounted for 55 awards valued at almost $304 million. The Army, Centers for Disease Control, Environmental Protection Agency, Navy and various intelligence agencies issued awards, the company said.
Work under the contracts ranges from support for the Federal Student Aid organization to infrastructure operations for the Army's primary internal Web portal, the company said.
CSC of El Segundo, Calif., employs about 78,000 workers and had revenue of nearly $14.1 billion for the year ended April 1. The company is No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal contractors, ranked according to their prime IT contracting revenue.
