GSA taps Telos for info security support

Telos Corp. will assist the General Service Administration with IT security in the agency's effort to merge the Federal Technology and Federal Supply services.

Under the $3 million, five-year agreement, Federal Acquisition Service team members will work with Telos to protect and ensure the security of the agency's enterprise infrastructure, said officials from the Ashburn, Va., company.

The one-year contract is worth $600,000. Each of the four additional option years is worth the same amount.

Telos will perform certifications and accreditations and conduct security vulnerability management for GSA. It also will use the expertise it gained in ensuring that the Pentagon backbone networks comply with the governing Defense Department and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines.

GSA is merging the two services into the Federal Acquisition Service, which includes telecommunications contracts, governmentwide acquisition contracts, professional-services schedules, IT schedules and programs, planning and development.

Telos, which has about 440 employees and annual sales of $116.7 million, ranks No. 70 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
