CSC wins transportation command contract from Defense
Computer Sciences Corp. won a contract worth about $51 million to offer portfolio and IT investment management services for the Defense Department's U.S. Transportation Command.
Computer Sciences Corp. won a contract worth about $51 million to offer portfolio and IT investment management services for the Defense Department's U.S. Transportation Command. The one-year contract has four one-year options.
The command provides air, land and sea transportation for the Defense Department during both peacetime and wartime.
Under the contract, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will develop plans, processes, tools and analyses for the Defense Department's transportation and distribution-related IT systems.
CSC's team members are Dynamics Research Corp., Scott Air Force Base, MCR Federal LLC, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, SRA International Inc. and Unisys Corp.
About 56 functional analysts, senior consultants, systems analysts, financial analysts and business process re-engineering specialists will perform the work at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and CSC's facility in O'Fallon, Ill.
CSC has about 79,000 workers and had revenue of $14.1 billion for fiscal 2005. The company is No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal contractors, ranked according to their prime IT contracting revenue.
