BearingPoint wins Air Force Materiel Command modernization work

BearingPoint Inc. has won a contract to assist the Air Force Materiel Command with the ongoing modernization of its purchasing and supply chain management program.

The McLean, Va., company won a contract to lead efforts around the command's Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Immersion Training. The $6 million base contract could be worth up to $21 million over four years if all options are exercised.

To assist the command with its long-term purchasing and supply chain management modernization program, BearingPoint will provide logistics education, instruction and strategic consulting services to more than 3,500 supply management personnel across the command.

Among the subcontractors that will support BearingPoint on the project are Mercer Engineering Research Center, Raytheon Professional Services, The Shenton Group Inc., the University of Oklahoma, V8 Logistics Services Group LLC, and Weber State University.

The Air Force Materiel Command is responsible for supporting overarching Air Force combat capabilities through management of supply, transportation, logistics plans, aircraft, support equipment, maintenance and munitions.
