Northrop Grumman unit wins Air Force support deal
Northrop Grumman Information Technology has won a contract from the Air Force to expand the service's pool of qualified technical and engineering personnel.
Northrop Grumman Information Technology has won a five-year, $64 million contract from the Air Force to expand the service's pool of qualified technical and engineering personnel, the company has announced. The contract includes four option years.
Under the contract, Northrop Grumman IT of McLean, Va., will hire qualified personnel with the appropriate security clearances to provide the Air Force with intelligence collection and analysis. The company also will handle a wide range of support tasks, from operational planning and training to network management to aircraft maintenance.
The work will be performed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla., and McChord Air Force Base in Washington state, as well as Rome, N.Y., and Salt Lake City.
Northrop Grumman IT is a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles. The company ranks No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
