COMTek wins Military Postal Services technology platform deal
Communications Technologies Inc. has won a $5.7 million multiyear contract with the Army to continue providing the Military Postal Services Agency with support for its technology platform.
Communications Technologies Inc. has won a $5.7 million multiyear contract with the Army to continue providing the Military Postal Services Agency with support for its technology platform.
The contract calls for COMTek of Chantilly, Va., to continue working on the design and integration of the agency's 21st Century Automated Military Postal System IT platform.
The platform is a Web-enabled information system infrastructure that uses Oracle 9i database and incorporates both legacy and new technology. The platform is used by the agency for its finance, transportation and administrative overseas functions.
The company's other federal customers include the Army and the departments of Agriculture and State.
The Military Postal Services Agency is the designated single service manager of all military mail operations.
COMTek, a privately held telecommunications and IT services company, has more than 900 employees.
