SRA tapped for Air Force space operations

SRA International Inc. won a five-year, $10.5 million task order to provide IT services to the U.S. Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations, the company said today.

SRA will support the planning, management and maintenance of aircraft operation and air, space and ground systems. The company will provide technical services for researching and analyzing the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System global weapon system and other intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

The Distributed Common Ground System provides the network-centric operations backbone for the U.S. armed forces as each service develops its own systems. It also provides continuous on-demand intelligence exchange for American and coalition forces.

SRA's services will include program management, systems analysis and engineering support for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance airborne, and ground systems and communications engineering for the Distributed Common Ground System.

SRA's team includes Riverside Research Institute, a New York-based nonprofit scientific organization that conducts research and provides systems engineering for government clients.

Fairfax, Va.-based SRA employs about 4,600 workers and had revenue of $881 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2005. The company is No. 27 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of prime federal contractors.
