DOD re-ups Alion for analysis center work
Alion Science and Technology has won a $60.7 million, three-year contract extension from the Defense Department to continue running its Weapons Systems Information Analysis Center.
Alion Science and Technology has won a $60.7 million, three-year contract extension from the Defense Department to continue running its Weapons Systems Information Analysis Center, the company announced today.
Alion of McLean, Va., currently operates the center for DOD, providing both management and subject matter expertise to support its users. The original contract to run the center was awarded to Alion in 1999. The contract extension will cover the period from October 1, 2005, through Sept. 20, 2008.
The center supports the DOD research, acquisition and user communities with current information and analysis of weapons and delivery systems and technologies.
Alion develops, analyzes and assesses these technologies, working directly with DOD customers to help them identify and use the latest technology effectively. Alion also has developed DOD-standard software tools to model the effectiveness of smart weapons systems.
Alion has about 1,700 employees and annual sales of $282.1 million. The company ranks No. 63 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
