CSC wins Naval Surface Warfare Center-Corona tech support deal

Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $161 million contract to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Corona Division.

Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $161 million contract to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Corona Division, the company announced today.

Under the contract, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will provide engineering, technical and operational support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Corona Division.

Specifically, CSC will provide program management and engineering services to assess the warfighting and capability of ships and aircraft, including the suitability of design, performance of equipment and weapons, and adequacy of training.

In addition, the company will provide project and financial management support, database and software maintenance, data conversion and other technical services for the Government Industry Data Exchange Program.

The Corona Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center is the Navy's only independent analysis and assessment center. Its staff includes about 1,000 scientists, engineers and support staff and more than 800 contractors.

CSC has about 78,000 employees and annual sales of $14.8 billion. The company ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
