Army taps DRC for mission requirements work

Dynamics Research Corp. has won a $2.8 million contract from the Defense Department's Defense Modeling and Simulation Office and the Army Research Laboratory, the company announced today.

Under the contract, DRC of Andover, Mass., will provide the development, implementation and transition of Missions and Means Framework as the systems integrator.

The framework is an integrated procedure for deriving mission requirements and providing survivability, lethality and vulnerability analyses and evaluation support. Its goal is to allow DOD to develop a mission-based, capability-centric warfare focus.

The Missions and Means Framework will be focused on three areas, including the Army's Future Combat Systems Acquisition Program, Joint Readiness Mission for the Joint National Training Capability and in support of testing and evaluation.

DRC began work on the one-year project last month. The system is being implemented by DRC's training and support practice.

DRC has about 1,960 employees and annual sales of $275.7 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas. The company ranks No. 69 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
