MTC supports fight against weapons proliferation

MTC Technologies Inc. won a five-year, $10 million prime contract to provide maintenance and technical support to the Air Force Technical Applications Center, the company said today.

The center monitors treaties and works against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Under the contract, MTC will help augment the Air Force Technical Applications Center's capabilities, resources and personnel to ensure mission readiness. The company also will provide support services for the research and development of future long-range detection systems and other proliferation detection technologies.

The award was accompanied by two task orders, together worth $750,000, for services through the end of the government's 2005 fiscal year. The Air Force will issue additional task orders for annual services totaling more than $2 million annually, up to the $10 million ceiling.

MTC's operations in Rockledge, Fla., will perform the work at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. Ensco Inc. of Falls Church, Va., is MTC's partner on a portion of the work.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, MTC provides engineering, technical and management services to the Defense Department and national-security agencies. It employs about 2,700 workers and posted 2004 revenue of $273 million. MTC is No. 59 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
