ManTech wins Navy modeling and simulation work

ManTech International Corp. won an $11.4 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide modeling and simulation training applications for the Navy's integrated warfare systems program, the company said today.

The contract, which was awarded to ManTech's Gray Hawk subsidiary, has a 15-month base period and two option periods for 17 and 12 months. ManTech acquired Gray Hawk Systems Inc. of Alexandria, Va., last month for $100 million.

Under the contract, ManTech will expand its interactive modeling and simulation program for the Navy to include a wide variety of platforms and targets.

ManTech has developed a graphic user interface that allows users to display all tactical interactions, including platforms, sensors and weapons, in three-dimensional and two-dimensional views, as well as displays of metrics and outcomes. The application will provide customized, interactive training simulation scenarios of anti-submarine, anti-surface and anti-air war, and expeditionary strike and electronic warfare.

Based in Fairfax, Va., ManTech provides technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national security programs to the federal government. The company employs about 6,000 people and had 2004 revenue of $842.4 million. It ranks No. 21 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
