Northrop Grumman unit wins Navy CLIP contract
Northrop Grumman Defense Mission Systems was awarded the Common Link Integration Processing contract to develop common software and common-link processing for a joint Navy-Air Force program.
A Northrop Grumman Corp. division has been awarded a contract potentially worth $122 million from the Navy to develop a common suite of software that integrates tactical data links and Internet Protocol connectivity on aircraft, ships and ground vehicles.
Northrop Grumman Defense Mission Systems of Reston, Va., was awarded the Common Link Integration Processing contract to develop common software and common-link processing for the joint Navy-Air Force program. CLIP consolidates tactical data links and gives the military services the capability to share information.
The contract includes system engineering design, analysis, software development, software and hardware integration, system testing, certification testing support, training, operational exercise support, lifecycle support, and system installation on ships, aircraft, shore sites, land platforms and test facilities.
Work will be performed in San Diego and is expected to be completed by January 2007.
