Navy re-ups CACI for electronic defense work
CACI International Inc. has won a four-year contract renewal from the Navy to continue providing electronic defense system support.
CACI International Inc. has won a four-year, $9.8 million contract renewal from the Navy to continue providing electronic defense system support, the company announced today.
Under the contract, Arlington, Va.-based CACI will provide sensor network engineering, integrated logistics and test evaluation services in support of a naval electronic defense system known as the Cooperative Engagement Capability. The company also will evaluate and integrate new technologies for enhanced system interoperability.
The contracting authority for the project is Naval Surface Warfare Center's Port Hueneme Division. The award expands CACI's engineering and logistics line of business, the company added.
The Cooperative Engagement Capability integrates data from a Navy network of sensors on ships and aircraft to create a single common air defense tactical display or "air picture." The system enables early detection and more consistent tracking of air threats and contacts.
The award, which was made as a task order under the SeaPort Enhanced contract vehicle [see WT story], extends work CACI first began in 1998. The company will perform the work in California, Virginia and onboard Navy ships and aircraft worldwide.
CACI provides IT and network solutions for defense, intelligence and e-government. The company has 9,500 employees and annual sales of $1.1 billion. The company is ranked No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
