Army taps DataPath for satellite equipment

DataPath Inc. won a $17.5 million contract from the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J. for satellite equipment, said officials from the Duluth, Ga.-based company.

The contract is for 14 Joint Network Node Satellite Communication Trailers and 38 Satellite Communication Battalion Command Post Node Trailers, officials said.

The DataPath 3000 is a compact, trailer-based satellite earth terminal that enables communications in remote locations inaccessible by larger mobile terminals. A third-generation earth terminal, the DataPath 3000 is specifically designed for sustained field operation with minimal maintenance by forward deployed warfighters.

DataPath is ranked No. 95 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of the largest government IT contractors.
