Davies joins ACS government solutions unit
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has hired consultant and <i>Washington Technology</i> columnist Tom Davies as senior vice president of business development for its Government Solutions Group.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has hired consultant and Washington Technology columnist Tom Davies as senior vice president of business development for its Government Solutions Group, the company said today. He began working with the Dallas-based company May 23.
Davies will report to Harvey Braswell, ACS' executive vice president for government sales with the company's Government Solutions Group.
Davies was formerly senior vice president for product and business development with the research and consulting firm Current Analysis Inc., in Sterling, Va. Before joining Current Analysis, he was senior vice president of Internet Services for the market research firm Federal Sources Inc., in McLean, Va.
Davies previously worked for EDS Corp. of Plano, Texas, and Systems and Computer Technology Corp., now part of ACS.
In addition, he held various positions with the state of Florida, including serving a stint as deputy executive administrator for the Governor's Information Resource Commission.
Since 1997, Davies has written the "Eye on the States" column for Washington Technology examining trends and opportunities in the state and local markets.
Davies holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Florida State University and a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.
