BearingPoint wins Purdue ERP integration deal

BearingPoint Inc. has won an $18.9 million contract from Purdue University to modernize business systems by implementing enterprise resource planning software, the company announced this week.

BearingPoint of McLean, Va., will serve as the systems integrator for OnePurdue, the university's initiative to modernize the systems that support student services, human resources, research administration and finance.

SAP Public Services Inc., part of SAP AG of Walldorf, Germany, will provide the ERP software that will be the linchpin of the modernization initiative.

BearingPoint will implement mySAP Business Suite solutions for financials, human resources and payroll, procurement and materials management as well as industry specific applications, such as SAP Campus Management, bringing the processes into a single, Web-based application.

BearingPoint also will assist with redesigning Purdue's business processes and help facilitate Purdue's adoption of the new system by offering education and communication programs to help various user groups make the transition.

BearingPoint offers consulting, systems integration and managed services to the commercial and government sectors. The company has 14,900 employees and annual sales of $3.1 billion. It is No. 33 on the Washington Technology 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The 2005 list will be released May 9.
