AT&T re-ups Marine testing lab

AT&T Government Solutions won a one-year, $1 million task order to continue operating the U.S. Marine testing lab responsible for transitioning legacy and emerging software applications to the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the company said today.

NMCI is a massive project that will connect Navy and Marine Corps computer systems on bases and within fleets and offices worldwide.

The Marine Corps applications and integration test lab is staffed by AT&T Government Solutions engineers who test commercial and government off-the-shelf software in legacy systems before sending them to a Navy lab for deployment in the NMCI. The applications testing process helps identify and resolve technical problems before the applications are shipped to the second lab.

AT&T has managed the Marine Corps' lab since its inception in March 2004.

"The lab has saved the Marine Corps time and money by quickly and efficiently testing software to make sure it is ready for the NMCI," said Lou Addeo, president of AT&T Government Solutions.
