Contractors share huge deal from EPA

SRA International Inc. and Project Performance Corp. won a five-year, $276 million contract from the Environmental Protection Agency for information technology advisory and assistance services.

SRA International Inc. and Project Performance Corp. won a five-year, $276 million contract from the Environmental Protection Agency for information technology advisory and assistance services.

EPA awarded the Information Technology Solutions-Business Information Strategic Support contract, called ITS-BISS, April 12. The agency awarded SRA $148 million and Project Performance Corp. $128 million.

The companies will provide IT services for EPA's information management policy, planning and program management activities. Some specific services include enterprise architecture, information security, business process management and customer relationship management.

SRA's team has more than 20 small and disadvantaged businesses with specialized expertise supporting EPA programs and regional offices.

"Our team will focus on integrating strategic business support with IT solutions to benefit EPA customers and improve environmental results," said Jim Whittaker, SRA's vice president of citizen-centric government services and ITS-BISS program manager.

Based in Fairfax, Va., SRA offers IT services and solutions to federal government agencies. It employs approximately 3,900 workers and had revenue of $615.8 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2004. The company is No. 31 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of prime federal contractors.

Based in McLean, Va., Project Performance Corp. is a management and IT consulting firm that provides services to the public and commercial sectors. It employs 170 workers and has additional offices in Washington, Alexandria, Va., Germantown, Md., and Dallas. The company's federal client roster includes the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Energy Department, FBI, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
