Communications Technologies Inc. has launched the new $9 million phase of its work for the Farm Service Agency where the company maintains 2,400 servers and nearly 7,500 printers in about 2,500 offices, officials from the Chantilly, Va., company said.
The contract with the Agriculture Department agency is the second phase of a 2001 contract with COMTek worth $17.4 million, company officials said.
COMTek also has a four-year-old Agriculture Department award of $2 million for the administration and support of a 2,400-user network in St. Louis, COMTek officials said.
The work at the Agriculture Department mirrors similar work COMTek does for the Defense Department. The parallel efforts allow the company to leverage a growing maintenance infrastructure, officials said.
