Tachyon extends service delivery area
Growing demand from defense customers leads Tachyon Networks Inc. to expand the delivery of its satellite broadband solutions to Asia, the Pacific Rim, Latin America and Africa.
Tachyon Networks Inc., a provider of satellite broadband solutions, is expanding delivery of its services to Asia, the Pacific Rim, Latin America and Africa, company officials said.
Tachyon's government users are driving a large portion of the global expansion, said Peter Carides, president and chief executive officer of the company, which has offices in Vienna, Va., San Diego and Amsterdam.
Tachyon offers access to telecommunications services providers and customers in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The expansion will be in Afghanistan, China and Southeast Asia first, followed by Africa, the Pacific Rim and Latin America.
Tachyon started building out necessary hubs and teleports to support its global coverage and is acquiring additional satellite bandwidth to support the move.
