New Jersey taps ACS for child support system

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $27 million contract from the New Jersey Office of Child Support Services for a child support payment processing system.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a five-year, $27 million contract from the New Jersey Office of Child Support Services for a child support payment processing system, the company announced today.

Dallas-based ACS will install a system to handle receipts, payments and imaging; print bills and notices; and offer customer services for more than 4.5 million child support payments annually. The company also will implement a full-service debit card system.

The system will let more than 120,000 custodial parents receive child support payments more quickly and securely, the company said. The contract is being administered through ACS' Family and Community Services business unit, which focuses on management, automation and operation of public-sector human services programs.

ACS provides IT and business process outsourcing services to the government and commercial sectors. It has more than 47,000 employees and annual sales of $4.1 billion.
