Harris nabs NSA applications network deal

Harris Corp. has won a three-year, $77 million contract from the National Security Agency to develop and deploy a system to support agency intelligence analysts, the company announced March 9.

Under the contract, Harris' Government Communications Systems Division will provide a complete software applications network that integrates analytic applications and will deploy newly developed software throughout the agency's infrastructure.

The Melbourne, Fla., company also will train users, offer logistics support and create a software developer's tool kit that will enable development and integration of future analytical applications.

Harris' team includes Northrop Grumman Corp., Applied Minds Inc., Dynamic Research Corp. and Vision Systems and Technology Inc.

Harris has more than 12,000 employees and annual sales of $2.5 billion. The company ranked No. 16 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
