CACI expands work for Sealift Command

CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va., won a three-year, $20.4 million prime contract to provide information technology support to the Military Sealift Command, the company said today.

CACI will lead a team of six subcontractors in managing IT processes and programs for the command, including help to implement new human resources applications and train users.

The work also extends business process re-engineering and systems integration support that CACI provides for the command's procurement and enterprisewide financial systems to electronic invoicing and related areas.

A unit of the Navy, the Military Sealift Command transports equipment, supplies, ammunition and fuel by sea to U.S. forces worldwide. The command is in the process of balancing its IT requirements while transforming its business processes and practices to cut costs and improve operational capability.

CACI employs approximately 9,500 people and had revenue of more than $1.1 billion for the year ended June 30, 2004. It is No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
