Sensitive DHS briefings leaked

"An error of misconfiguration" at the Energy Department exposed dozens of sensitive Homeland Security Department documents on a public Internet site for several days, according to an Energy Department spokesman.

The documents covered five months' worth of "morning briefings" that DHS sent to federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, CIA and the White House, and which include details on anti-terrorist actions by U.S. law enforcement.

The public site for the department's Energy Assurance Office, the source of the leak, has been put back up, but the internal site is still offline for testing, according to the Energy Department.
