BearingPoint names Ron Salluzzo chief risk officer
The state and local executive began the newly created position immediately, the company announced this week.
BearingPoint Inc. has appointed longtime state and local executive Ron Salluzzo to serve in the newly created position of chief risk officer, the company announced this week. Salluzzo assumed his new duties immediately.
Salluzzo, formerly vice president of the McLean, Va., company's state and local government and education practice, will report directly to the audit committee of the company's board of directors. The company's risk and quality management teams will report to Salluzzo.
Salluzzo will work with BearingPoint's finance and accounting teams and also lead the company's internal audit efforts.
Rod McGeary, BearingPoint's chairman and chief executive officer, said in announcing the move that establishing such a position is necessary because of "a compliance-driven environment," which requires large companies to keep a tight grip on risk management, accurate internal controls, oversight and policy compliance.
The company cited a report by research and consulting firm Forrester Research Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., that predicts that by 2007, 75 percent of all large critical-infrastructure companies will have established a formal enterprise risk management office with a chief risk officer or equivalent.
Cathy Pomanti, a senior vice president with the company, will assume Salluzzo's previous duties.
