WFI to acquire network services company

Wireless Facilities Inc. has acquired TLA Associates, a provider of network services, for $34 million cash.

Wireless Facilities Inc. has acquired TLA Associates, a provider of network services, for $34 million cash, the company announced today.

The acquisition of TLA of Alexandria, Va., will boost San Diego-based WFI's network services capabilities as well as add new clients to its existing customer base, company officials said.

The company will pick up 180 network engineers and other network professionals through the acquisition.

TLA services include the design, development, integration and maintenance of networks, mission-critical applications and network security systems. Among its areas of expertise are network engineering, application development, network infrastructure support, information assurance and managed services, including network maintenance and monitoring.

TLA had revenue of $27 million for the 12-month period ending Nov. 30, 2004. WFI provides systems engineering, network services and technical outsourcing for commercial and government clients. The company has about 1,760 employees and annual sales of $262.2 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
