Northrop takes on Air Force targeting job
A $48 million contract from the Air Force allows the company to continue work on the Target Exploitation Development and Support program.
Northrop Grumman Corp. won a five-year, $48 million contract from the Air Force to continue work on the Target Exploitation Development and Support program, the Defense Department said today.
Under the contract, the company's information technology division will continue to develop and enhance the operations targeting functionality of the joint targeting automation software toward full automation of needed targeting capabilities. Northrop Grumman won the first contract for $30 million in September 2000.
The work will include making changes to improve performance and responsiveness to operational needs; upgrading applications with the latest software versions; supporting integration testing with various operational environments; and responding to user mission needs for the initialization, operation and management of the supported applications.
Northrop Grumman will perform the work at its defense mission systems division in Bellevue, N.Y. The work is scheduled for completion by February 2011.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman is No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The company employs 125,000 workers and had 2003 revenue of $26.2 billion. Its IT division in Herndon, Va., offers IT solutions and business services for government and commercial clients.
