DRC scores supply-chain work from MDA

Dynamics Research Corp. won a $25 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency to provide continuous services to improve the agency's supply chain performance, the company said today.

The Defense Department agency develops, tests and prepares a missile defense system for deployment. DRS is helping the agency to achieve measurable enterprisewide performance improvements at its suppliers through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques.

The work will use supplier metrics to ensure that the efforts have a positive effect on ballistic missile defense systems products and customers. The contract's performance period, including options, will continue through January 2008.

Based in Andover, Mass., DRC provides computer-based systems development, engineering, management and logistics support services to commercial and government clients. Its federal roster includes the U.S. military, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Homeland Security and Justice departments. The company employs more than 2,000 workers had 2003 revenue of $244.8 million. It ranked No. 77 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
