Comtech Telecommunications wins Army mobile data deal
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has won a $6.7 million contract to provide mobile data communications services to support the Army's Blue Force Tracking initiative.
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has won a $6.7 million contract to provide mobile data communications services to support the Army's Blue Force Tracking initiative, the company announced this week. The contract may be worth $13.6 million if all options are exercised.
Under the contract, Comtech Telecommunications of Melville, N.Y., will supply satellite capacity, communications and network management services, and associated support.
The company's Germantown, Md.-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., will perform the work.
The contract relates to Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below-Blue Force Tracking, which is a battle command real-time situational awareness command and control system.
Comtech Telecommunications, a provider of advanced communications solutions, has about 850 employees and annual sales of $223.4 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
The company ranks No. 100 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
