AT&T wins Tennessee National Guard work

AT&T Government Solutions won a one-year, $940,000 contract to build a statewide high-speed network linking 96 Tennessee Army National Guard locations, the company said today.

The contract's value could reach $4.7 million if four one-year option periods are exercised.

The network will allow National Guardsman to exchange data more efficiently and less expensively. AT&T will provide a secure Web portal for customers to place orders, report trouble and optimize network usage.

Based in Vienna, Va., AT&T Government Solutions provides IT solutions to the federal government. Its parent company, AT&T Corp. of Bedminster, N.J., had 2003 revenue of $34.5 billion and ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of prime federal contractors.
