SRA snares $18 million order from Military Sealift Command

SRA International Inc. won a one-year $18 million task order from the General Services Administration to provide a range of information technology services to the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command, the company said today.


The Military Sealift Command provides ocean transportation of equipment, fuel, supplies and ammunition for U.S. forces worldwide.


Under the task order, SRA will provide operations and maintenance services for the IT systems that support the command's fleet operations. The company's services will include project management; administration and management of the afloat network operations center; afloat operations support, including infrastructure and communications support; hardware and software upgrades and integration; and user training.


SRA's team includes Information Systems Support Inc., of Gaithersburg, Md., and Mercomms Unlimited Inc. of Panama City, Fla.


The task order was awarded under the Millennia contract, a $25 billion multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for multiyear IT services for federal agencies worldwide. GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, which awarded the work, is a program under the agency's Federal Technology Service. It provides more than $1.4 billion annually in large, complex project support to federal agencies.


Fairfax, Va.-based SRA provides IT services and solutions to federal government agencies and is No. 31 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of prime federal contractors. It employs approximately 3,400 workers and had revenue of $615.8 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2004.
