Virginia Beach taps Manatron for revenue management

Manatron Inc. won a six-year, $4.5 million contract from the city of Virginia Beach, Va., for government revenue management software and related services.

Manatron Inc. won a six-year, $4.5 million contract from the city of Virginia Beach, Va., to provide government revenue management software and related services, the company announced today.

Under the contract, Manatron of Kalamazoo, Mich., will install software that supports the tax management of real estate including records, geographic information systems integration, valuation, tax billing and collection, among other functions.

Assessors, auditors, treasurers, tax collectors, recorders and other state and local government officials use the software. The award is the company's fifth significant contract win for its revenue management software.

Virginia Beach has a population of more than 400,000 and about 180,000 parcels.

Manatron provides Web and client-server application software products for local government. The company has about 365 employees and annual sales of $38.5 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
