Orange, Calif., re-ups ACS for tech support

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a $4.2 million contract renewal from the city of Orange, Calif., to continue managing the city's IT operations and offer it an array of IT services.

Those services include operation and support of the city's data center, help-desk support, applications and desktop support, and network management.

ACS of Dallas has provided IT outsourcing services for the city since 1984. The trust and confidence that the city has placed in ACS over the years is not misplaced, said Dave Rudat, city manager.

"Our reliance and confidence in ACS continues as new and more robust systems are implemented to support the growing needs of the city," he said.

ACS provides business process and IT outsourcing to government and commercial customers. The company has more than 43,000 employees and annual sales of $4.1 billion.
