Lockheed Martin IT wins $525 million Social Security work

Lockheed Martin Information Technology won a seven-year, $525 million contract to provide information technology support services to the Social Security Administration, the company said today.

The Seabrook, Md., company will provide a complete range of services related to the agency's major systems modernization initiatives. The contract continues the work Lockheed Martin does for the agency under its Enterprise Technology Services contract.

Specifically, Lockheed Martin will provide support in application design, development, testing and maintenance; database administration and imaging and document management; data administration and programmatic repository and enterprise architecture; software engineering and technology; emerging technology applications; and software engineering management.

Lockheed Martin's contract teammates include Global Commerce and Information Inc. of Columbia. Md.; Pointe Technology Group Inc. of Landover, Md.; Computer Programs and Systems Inc. of Baltimore; RS Information Systems Inc. of McLean, Va.; Engineering Systems Solutions, Inc. of Frederick, Md.; Apptis Inc. of Chantilly, Va.; SM Consulting Inc. of Linthicum, Md.; and BAE Systems Information Technology of McLean.

Lockheed Martin's IT division employs 11,000 of the parent company's 130,000 workers worldwide. The Bethesda, Md., parent company had 2003 revenue of $31.8 billion. It is No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
