CACI wins Navy recompete

CACI International won a $15.7 million recompete from the U.S. Navy to support its command and control processor/common data link management system, the company said Tuesday.

Awarded by the Space and Naval Warfare Center in San Diego, the contract is for three years with a two-year option period will raise the contract's value to $27 million. The data link management system collects, manages and transmits information that is essential to Navy and Joint Forces tactical operations. CACI has supported the program for nearly 20 years to enable shipboard, aircraft and shore-based users to send and receive critical data, reports and orders for action on hostile forces, engagements and battlefield activities.

Under the contract, CACI will test proposed tactical systems to reduce project risks by detecting design weaknesses and requirement omissions, the company said. CACI of Arlington, Va., will expand its support to next-generation programs that provide enhanced information capabilities.

CACI employs about 9,400 people and had revenue of more than $1.1 billion for its fiscal year ended June 30, 2004. It is No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
