Lockheed Martin wins IT work for Central Command
Lockheed Martin Corp. will supply personnel and equipment to handle voice, video and data communications services in the United State and overseas for the Defense Department's Central Command.
Lockheed Martin Corp. won an $87 million, four-year task order from the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center to provide enterprisewide information technology to the Defense Department's Central Command, the company said today.
Under the terms of the deal, Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin and its team will supply personnel and equipment to handle voice, video and data communications services in the United State and overseas. The company will support Centcom at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., as well as in Qatar and Bahrain. It will also provide IT support for other organizations that Centcom oversees.
The task order was awarded under GSA's Millennia contract, a governmentwide acquisition vehicle that provides technical services and support for large software management, communications and systems integration projects.
Lockheed's teammates include All Points Logistics Inc., Dataline Inc., iBaseT Inc., Northrop Grumman Corp. and Titan Corp.
Lockheed Martin ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, based on 2003 prime government IT revenue of $5.5 billion.
