Harris lands Air Force technical services deal

Harris Corp. won a one-year, $2.6 million contract from the Air Force Air Mobility Command to continue providing technical services to the command's Enterprise Security Support program, the company announced today.

The contract has four one-year options and is expected to be worth more than $14 million if all of them are exercised.

Harris Technical Services Corp. will provide a standardized approach to the certification, security documentation and computer system security audit functions for the Air Mobility Command's Enterprise Security Support program. Harris will offer security-related technical documentation, engineering and security testing, and computer system security audit support for the program.

The support includes threat identification, certification and accreditation, vulnerability analysis, risk assessment and countermeasure identification for the duration of the contract performance period.

As the Air Force component of the U.S. Transportation Command, the Air Mobility Command provides airlift, air refueling, special air mission and air medical evacuation for U.S. military forces as well as supplying forces to theater commands in wartime.

Harris Technical Services is a subsidiary of Harris Corp., of Melbourne, Fla. Harris has more than 10,900 employees and annual sales of $2.5 billion. The company ranks No. 16 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
