Titan wins command and control work

Titan Corp. won a five-year, multiple-award contract worth up to $23 million from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego for network engineering services, the company said today.

The contract is for one year with four option years.

Titan will provide systems engineering; command, control and communication system development and installation; modeling and simulation support; database development; network operations; logistics support; and technical management support services.

The networks involved in the project are tailored and classified tactical networks that correspond to the Navy-Marine Corps Internet.

"This opportunity allows Titan to continue providing support in the development, fielding, operation and life-cycle maintenance of the command, control, information and network programs so critical to the success of the U.S. Navy's operating forces," said Gene Ray, Titan's chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Based in San Diego, Titan employs 11,500 workers and had 2003 revenue of $1.8 billion. The company is No. 9 on Washington Technology's 2004 list of federal prime contractors.
