Northrop unveils Netcents team

Northrop Grumman Corp.'s team for the Air Force's five-year, $10 billion Network Centric Solutions program includes other large systems integrators such as Computer Sciences Corp., Science Applications International Corp. and BearingPoint Inc.

The program, called Netcents, will provide the Air Force, Defense Department and other federal government agencies with a range of information technology solutions and services. The task order contract will be for one year plus four one-year options. Multiple teams are expected to win a spot on the contract.

Northrop Grumman's team consists of 10 large companies and 24 small ones.

Other team members include RS Information Systems Inc., Siemens AG, T-Systems International GmbH, Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Corp., Dell Inc. and SI International Inc. The company did not specify the names of the 24 small companies.

The Air Force is scheduled to award Netcents at the end of September, according to Input, a government IT research firm in Reston, Va.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman is No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list. The company employs 120,000 workers and had 2003 revenue of $26.2 billion.
